Prospect Bay Country Club is proud of its 18 hole championship golf course. Four sets of tees allow golfers of all skill levels to have an enjoyable and fun round, while the back tees, playing at 6659 yards, provide a stern test of golf. PBCC is also a PGA recognized Family Golf Course with 3 additional sets of Junior tees, making it a fun place to play for the whole family.
The course, long known for excellent greens, has two distinct nines. The front is open and more affected by breezes off Eastern Bay. It is highlighted by the 4th hole, a 556 yard par five, which features a large two-tiered green and the 6th, a 400 yard par four, sporting out-of bounds right and water on the left. The back nine is tree-lined, winding along the perimeter of Talisman Farm. The course is known for its strong finishing holes, considered by some to be as good as anything on the Eastern Shore. The 17th, a 428 yard par four, plays into the prevailing wind and demands an accurate tee shot in order to have a chance at par. It’s followed up by our signature hole, the 590 yard par five 18th. The large, almost “island” green, is well-protected by four bunkers and water front and right. A par on the 18th is always a great way to finish the round.
PBCC has one of the finest golf practice facilities in the area. Six target greens range in distance from 60 yards to over 200 yards, allowing use of every club in the bag. Ample grass teeing areas are available six days a week during the season with mats open on the off days. There is also a practice fairway bunker, complete short game facility and large putting green. In addition, there is a satellite putting green adjacent to the clubhouse and scoreboard area.
Prospect Bay Country Club hosted the 1991 Maryland Open, won by Jon Stanley, and is proud to host the annual Towson University/Fireline Invitational Golf Tournament. This tournament attracts a top field of NCAA Division 1 teams and golfers. In 2007 the tournament was won by Keegan Bradley, winner of the 2011 PGA Championship.
